The Mission of Resurrection Hope

April brings us face-to-face with the miracle of Easter — the empty tomb and the risen Lord. The mission of the Church flows directly from the Resurrection. Because Jesus lives, we are sent to proclaim that life conquers death, love triumphs over sin, and hope is never lost. “As the Father has sent Me, so I send you” (John 20:21).

The mission of resurrection is not only about what we say but how we live. Every act of forgiveness, reconciliation, and courage in the face of despair bears witness to Christ’s victory. Mission means carrying resurrection hope into dark places — prisons, hospitals, refugee camps, and our own neighborhoods. It means believing that no situation is beyond redemption.

This month, as we celebrate Easter joy, let us remember that resurrection is both an event and a calling. The same power that rolled away the stone empowers us to serve, to heal, and to proclaim: “Christ is risen indeed!”
