The Significance to Fiji of 9th August the International Indigenous Day

Fiji is a multicultural nation with a diverse population that includes Indigenous Fijians (iTaukei), Indo-Fijians, Part Europeans, Rotumans, Chinese, Banabans of Rabi, and Polynesians of Kioa. In such a society, celebrating International Indigenous Peoples Day is not about elevating one group over others but about recognizing and respecting the unique contributions of each community.
